ABU DHABI, 3rd November, 2023 (WAM) -- Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), emphasised the profound significance of Flag Day, marking it as a day of honour for Emirati people to contemplate their unwavering pride in their nation. This day holds a profound symbol of national identity and the unswerving loyalty cherished by every citizen towards the UAE.

In a speech marking the occasion, Al Neyadi expressed, "Flag Day serves as a renewal of our commitment and devotion to our beloved nation, its leadership, and our unwavering dedication to offer our utmost in upholding the UAE flag with distinction globally."

He also highlighted the historical significance of this occasion, commemorating the pioneering strides of the nation's founding fathers, the faithful leaders who safeguarded the flag's legacy and etched their love for it in the hearts of the people. Flag Day also stands as an occasion to honour the lives of the nation's heroes and martyrs, those who solemnly vowed to protect the flag's honour and what it symbolises, ultimately sacrificing their lives for its cause.

Al Neyadi added, “Flag Day comes to reinforce the loyalty and belonging that the UAE people have to their nation, which reflects synergy and interconnectedness even in the darkest and most difficult circumstances, and in which we see them united to protect the UAE within the Emergency and Crisis Management National Network.”

In conclusion, he underscored the paramount national duty instilled in the hearts and minds of every citizen of this generous nation. He emphasised the collective responsibility to safeguard its achievements and elevate its global stature through utilising national capabilities, the preservation of historical roots, and forward-looking strategies aimed at realising the UAE's ambitious aspirations.
